2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
The latest spy shots of a prototype for the convertible version of the new 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, has been confirmed by the automaker’s U.S. chief and is expected on the market sometime in 2015, as a 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class model. The appearance will be the sporty with wide stance while the other dimensions will be identical to the previous model. The popularity of this model is great, so many eagerly await release on the market.
2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Redesign
2016 Mercedes Benz C-class plug-in will utilize the same rear-drive architecture as its gas- and diesel-powered siblings. From these spy photos, however, we can surmise it will get a smattering of hybrid-specific body modifications. If you look closely, two-door C-Class variants will be sportier than the sedan on which they’re based. We can already see that the track of this prototype is wider than that of the sedan, and the car looks to be sitting lower. The side mirrors are also mounted to the doors, whereas on the sedan these are mounted at the base of the A-pillar. As for the roof of the C-Class Cabrio, Mercedes is likely to forgo a retractable hardtop in favor of a lighter and less expensive soft-top roof, just as it has with the E-Class Cabrio and upcoming S-Class Cabrio. The light clusters are identical in shape and pattern to the S Class’ and are linked together by the same chrome strip. Even the exhaust tips are similar. This is solid indication that the Germans could transplant some more from the large coupe, but we expect the entire front fascia to come from the C-Class sedan. We also expect that this prototype’s pale blue color will make the production car’s options sheet if only because every hybrid must be offered with some kind of baby blue color.
2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Engine
Under the hood, Engine offerings should match those of the sedans, meaning C300 and C400 models at launch. the 2016 Mercedes Benz C-Class sedan, the C300 is powered by a 235-horsepower, 273-pound-foot 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder while the C400 gets a 329-horsepower, 354-pound-foot 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6. A seven-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive should be standard. The car is also likely to offer multiple driving modes, including full-electric, hybrid, and gas-only (to maintain electric charge for later use).
2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Release date and Price
We expect the 2016 Mercedes Benz C-class to arrive the next year. The final price will depend of choice the type of engine. Don’t be surprised if it carries an upcharge of a few thousand bucks over the C’s estimated $39,000 base price.
