2016 Jaguar F-Type AWD
Jaguar F-Type was launched in 2012 as a spiritual successor to the E-Type. The sports car was received with great enthusiasm, often being labeled as a stout competitor for the Porsche 911. the new 2016 Jaguar F-Type sounds like an absolute blast, there is a large part of the population that likes their sports cars with a little less drift and a lot more traction. Just look to the sales of the Audi R8 , Audi TT , and the Porsche Carrera 4 for evidence of that. Jaguar is well aware of the customers it may be losing in the colder regions of the world by only offering a RWD coupe, so it’s now offering an AWD version of the sporty two-door for 2016.
2016 Jaguar F-Type AWD Design
the AWD F-Type is identical to the rear-wheel-drive model as far as aesthetics go. Integrating AWD required only subtle changes to the F-Type’s acclaimed styling a prerequisite which Jaguar’s design and engineering teams worked side by side to achieve and the enhancements give AWD F-Types even more presence. aluminium clamshell bonnet gains a deeper central power bulge. Either side are distinctive new vents, positioned further apart and further forward than those of rear-wheel drive F-Types. AWD V6 models also feature unique 19-inch Volution alloy wheels in either silver or diamond. From behind the wheel drivers will quickly notice the extra dimension that AWD adds to performance and road holding in all conditions and especially on slippery road surfaces. Another benefit of AWD is the ability to vary the front: rear torque split to mitigate oversteer during fast cornering by providing yaw damping. technology Jaguar’s chassis engineers have spent more than five years perfecting the F-Type’s performance is now even more accessible and exploitable. Same goes for the interior, where nothing changes with the addition of all-wheel-drive. Of course, the driving mode display may be different now that power is routed to all four corners, but don’t expect any extra amenities such as new upholstery or trim options. Everything Jaguar offers as standard equipment with the rear-wheel-drive F-Type Coupe is available for the AWD model. The options are transferred as well.
2016 Jaguar F-Type Engine
Jaguar didn’t have many details to share about the all-wheel-drive system offered in the 2016 Jaguar F-Type. However, it did say the F-Type R Coupe, which is powered by a supercharged, 5.0-liter, V-8 engine rated at 542 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque, needs only 3.9 seconds to accelerate from naught to 60 mph. This means the AWD system shaves a tenth of a second off the R Coupe’s four-second 0-to-60-mph benchmark. Top speed remains locked at 186 mph.
