2016 Fiat 500X
The 2016 Fiat 500X is an new model from Fiat. new Fiat 500X made its North American debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Developed Based on the same platform the 2015 Jeep Renegade, the 500X is aimed at hip, active, urban buyers who need more space and a higher riding position than a normal 500 can give. Although Fiat has yet to confirm the 500X will come to the U.S., we know the crossover will join the Jeep Renegade in North America at some point. make sure you have a look at our review below.
2016 Fiat 500X Exterior
The production 2016 Fiat 500X is basically unchanged, with very few exterior bits and pieces being altered one way or another. 500X draws it cues from the familiar 500, but features slightly oversized elements, unlike the 500L, a raked rear glass. but a sporty crossover that marks Fiat’s entry in a new segment. 2016 500X is more imposing at 167.3 inches long, 70.8 inches wide and 63 inches tall. The large headlamps that extend into the fenders and hood, the beefy bumper and the larger grille make out most of its front fascia. The crossover comes with vertical units and a tailgate that becomes narrower towards the bumper. From the side, the 500X ditches the familiar 500 appearance and becomes unique in its own right by means of plastic cladding covering the wheel arches and the side skirts and a raked rear glass. Customers will be able to choose between 12 exterior colors and eight wheel designs ranging from 16 to 18 inches.
2016 Fiat 500X Interior
Interior of the 2016 Fiat 500X is also new when compared to the regular 500, although it shares much with both the 500L and its American sibling, the Jeep Renegade. The dashboard features either a 5 or 6.5-inch Uconnect infotainment system with both Bluetooth and USB connectivity, which are operated by steering voice command. The 5-inch Uconnect is equipped with TomTom 2.5D navigation, while the 6.5-inch unit includes satellite navigation with 3D. Fiat also offers a DAB sound system and a Beats Hi-Fi developed in cooperation with Beats by Dr. Dre. 500X Interior can be had in a range of two-tone schemes with contrasting colors for the seats, door panels and the dashboard.
2016 Fiat 500X Powertrain
New 2016 Fiat 500X will be sold with no less than seven engines in Europe. The lineup includes four gasoline units and three diesels. The gas range begins with the 1.6-liter E-torQ rated at 110 horsepower and continues with the company’s familiar 1.4-liter MultiAir. The turbo mill comes in two guises, generating 140 and 170 horsepower, respectively. Lastly, the range-topping gasoline engine is the 2.4-liter Tiger Tiger shark we’re already familiar with here in the United States. This engine cranks out 184 ponies and it’s likely one of the very few drivetrains the 500X will bring to North America. in the U.S., the engine options are limited to just two. The standard powerplant is the 1.4-liter, turbocharged, MultiAir four-cylinder that puts out 160 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 184 pound-feet of twist. The optional unit is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 175 pound-feet of torque at 3,900 rpm.
2016 Fiat 500X Release Date and Price
No sale date has been announced, but it’s safe to assume we won’t see this one on our shores until at least the summer of 2015. Pricing for the 2016 Fiat 500X is not yet available, but we’ll be right back as soon as we get some info.
