2017 Chevy Malibu is one of the trim levels that were produced in 1964 and in 1987 the company considered separating this model from other trims. Later, the company stopped its production and in 1997 the car came back with its popular rear wheel drive displaced with the front wheel drive. The current generation is the eighth that is using GM’s Epsilon II platform. This platform is also used by Chevy Impala, Cadillac XTS and also Buick LaCrosse. Although the company redesigned the 2013 model, the car had big competition with Kia Optima and Chrysler 200. To give something better, American automaker will release 2017 Malibu to jazz up the market with this mid-size sedan.

As we mentioned to you before that the current model goes with Epsilon II platform but there are only minor upgrades available. Based on the reports, this car will have ample cabin space with great dimensions around the cabin. The changes around the dimension will be helpful to give more comfort because the car has more leg and head room to fix the previous complains. Learning from the prototypes picture of 2017 Chevy Malibu, the car has LED running lights that are a bit lowered for about 6.7 inches with the narrow headlights. For the rear part of the car, the tail lights cluster will be added around the trunk and the other will be integrated in the trunk lid. To have perfect integration for the exhaust pipes with the rear bumper, the company adds space there. In addition, the company will also increase the wheelbase length to be a bit wider and lower than before. For the rear roof, it is sloppy rearwards for four-door coupe style. A slight improvement is added around the cabin of 2017 Chevy Malibu including the quality materials, elegant and luxurious cabin along with the redesigned dashboard.

2017 Chevy Malibu is designed with the support of engine option as the new sedan. It seems that the company will keep the current engine but there will be start-stop transmission to support. The engine likely will be turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0 liter to generate the output for about 259 horsepower and 295 pounds-feet of torque. There is also a big rumor that the company will offer GM’s Ecotec engine 1.5 liter and hybrid variant that is four-cylinder 2.5 liter with the current output about 196 horsepower and 191 pounds-feet of torque.
2017 Chevy Malibu Release Date and Price
2017 Chevy Malibu is expected to be available in the late of 2016 with the estimated price about $24,000.
